Assistive technology or AT is technology that is used for people with disabilities. People with disabilities often have a difficulty performing activities of daily living which can include using technology. Now with phones tablets and PCs most have a speech to text, which allows someone to speak into the computer and it write down what their saying. This can help if you are paralyzed or immobile, or you have a hard time spelling. This can help struggling writers boost their writing production and it provides an alternate access to a computer for individuals. The way of writing and its uses for other things is 99% accurate, and a great way to help people with disabilities. Even people without disabilities for example, teachers allowing students access to it to help them not get sidetracked by grammar, sentence structure, spelling, etc…, but what happens when someone can’t see the text? Is there another program for the blind since speech to text doesn’t work for them? Well, there is it’s called Screen Readers.
Screen readers is a form of AT (Assistive Technology) that renders text and image content as speech or braille output. This allows people with difficulties seeing to still have access to digital content, like websites or applications via audio or touch. The main users are blind or very limited vision. A screen reader uses TTS (Text-To-Speech) to translate onscreen information into speech, which can be heard through speakers or headphones. Also, as the information on the screen changes, so does the Braille characters on the display change, providing refreshable information directly from the computer. This allows everyone to access the internet!

La tecnologia assistiva o AT è la tecnologia utilizzata per le persone con disabilità. Le persone con disabilità hanno spesso difficoltà a svolgere attività della vita quotidiana che possono includere l'uso della tecnologia. Ora, con i telefoni, i tablet ei PC la maggior parte ha una sintesi vocale, che consente a qualcuno di parlare al computer e di annotare ciò che sta dicendo. Questo può aiutare se sei paralizzato o immobile, o se hai difficoltà a scrivere. Questo può aiutare gli scrittori in difficoltà ad aumentare la loro produzione di scrittura e fornisce un accesso alternativo a un computer per gli individui. Il modo di scrivere e i suoi usi per altre cose è accurato al 99% e un ottimo modo per aiutare le persone con disabilità. Anche le persone senza disabilità, ad esempio, gli insegnanti che consentono agli studenti di accedervi per aiutarli a non farsi distrarre dalla grammatica, dalla struttura delle frasi, dall'ortografia, ecc ..., ma cosa succede quando qualcuno non riesce a vedere il testo? Esiste un altro programma per non vedenti dato che la parola al testo non funziona per loro? Ebbene, si chiama Screen Reader.
